When you feel ready, our experienced team will schedule an initial home visit to provide detailed information about Care Visions Fostering Scotland, what are your fostering options, and what would be involved in the Assessment process.
This visit is a perfect time to ask any questions that may have arisen since your initial enquiry call (LINK TO CALL PAGE). During our visit, we'll explore your home, meet your household members, and assess the bedroom earmarked for fostering to ensure it aligns with health and safety standards and requirements. We of course understand that your spare room may currently serve a different purpose, such as a home office, guest room, or general storage, and we don't expect it to be immediately converted into a young person's bedroom during our initial inspection. Our criteria is for a good sized room capable of accommodating a single bed, storage for clothing and toys, and a sizable window providing ample natural light.
We can also advise on any suggestions to help prepare your home for welcoming a child and young person.
During this visit, it will be great to chat further with you about how you feel on the next stages of your fostering journey, making sure you are ready, prepared and best informed.
